Roman philosopher Seneca reminds us "No one will bring back the years; no one will restore you to yourself. Life will follow the path it began to take, and will neither reverse nor check its course. It will cause no commotion to remind you of its swiftness, but glide on quietly." But along the way we should question those things which make up our lives - what lines should we be crossing? Friends travel with us side-by-side from far away to deepen our days, mostly leaving a love stain. Thanks for sharing.
I really appreciate your comment, it was a dark time for a lot of us in the eighties and as politics change and knowledge grows, fewer people want to remember that we were just kids trying to be soldiers without insight to the bigger picture, and the various power plays. I felt it was important to remember the individuals, kids like me at the time, who didn't really understand the whys but were conditioned to follow instructions no matter what.
In some distant future earth and the mighty creatures it gave birth to will fade into the obscurity of the vast cosmos neither to be known nor to be remembered ever after but, in these few years that we've got to admire our existence, to feel what is it to exist, slid through sideways bump at the stupid turns and when arrive at the end, have a smile on your face looking back and say,"fucking nailed it"
