Pisces - taken from the album 'Pisces' by Mike Rowland

A tribute to all the Pisceans out there

A Pisces person is humble, compassionate, sensitive, adaptable, kind, intuitive, and receptive. At times possibly vague, careless, indecisive, and unable to cope with practical things.

Of all the signs Pisces is the most susceptible to outside influence. On the positive side, the Piscean has great compassion and an ability to relieve the sufferings of other people. But Pisceans cannot stand too much reality. If they are wise, they escape 'positively' through the Arts. If unwise, they may allow themselves to escape through drugs, which will accentuate their natural indecisiveness.

The Piscean's torrent of emotion is so strong that they themselves may be confused and tormented by it. It is not easy for Pisceans to conform. Their natural kindness and charm will inspire their friends, and because of their delightful manner they will not even notice the chaos which all too often abounds in the Piscean home.

Pisceans must be careful in their relationships. They can easily be carried away, and discover, when it is too late, that the marvelous attributes they saw in their loved one do not really exist.

In principle Pisceans should not consider a career in which discipline plays too great a part.

Pisceans will find it difficult to insist on any form of correction, even verbal; and there is for that reason a strong tendancy for the children of Pisceans to be spoilt. It is hard to advise them how to combat this.

The Piscean child will not be happy at a strict or over-academic school. They may be good at languages or history. The more artistic their interests, the more positive will be their satisfaction.

Etude by Mike Oldfield

One of the most haunting pieces of music you will ever hear. Etude, by Mike Oldfield from The Killing Fields
A reminder of the cruelty of mankind and why history should always be remembered to prevent things like this ever happening again.

The Cambodian Killing Fields (KhmerវាលពិឃាតKhmer pronunciation: [ʋiəl pikʰiət]) are a number of sites in Cambodia where collectively more than a million people were killed and buried by the Khmer Rouge regime, during its rule of the country from 1975 to 1979, immediately after the end of the Cambodian Civil War(1970–1975). The mass killings are widely regarded as part of a broad state-sponsored genocide (the Cambodian genocide).
Analysis of 20,000 mass grave sites by the DC-Cam Mapping Program and Yale University indicate at least 1,386,734 victims of execution. Estimates of the total number of deaths resulting from Khmer Rouge policies, including disease and starvation, range from 1.7 to 2.5 million out of a 1975 population of roughly 8 million. In 1979, Vietnam invaded Democratic Kampuchea and toppled the Khmer Rouge regime.
The Cambodian journalist Dith Pran coined the term "killing fields" after his escape from the regime.

I call it life

I don't consider myself a writer or suffer any delusions of grandeur, I am not good with expressing myself and the writing became a method of helping to understand my own emotions, Dealing with depression, it is so easy to bury everything, this helps me to get it out of my head into a picture that I can attempt to understand and deal with, when its in the open I can see it.

By posting the words on the blog, I am hoping that others who have the same difficulties will get something out of this. Some of the writing is dark, but I find when I have it in front of me, the light really helps..

For You

I have always battled with expressing myself to other especially my wife. I wrote this last year for her, I wasn't originally planning on sharing it, Its just that sometimes words need to be said. The words are real, the thought and emotion behind them are real. I think the greatest passage on love is found in the Bible, I don't think that you have to be a Christian to see the wisdom in this extract:  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Lovve does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 4-7

I know that relationships are not easy and take a lot of work, If we try to live by these words above, I believe it makes a difference. It's always tempting to look to your partner or those close to you and suggest that they read and practice these words, if that happens we will have missed the point of the words. I believe the words were written for whoever reads them an then to lived to those around them.

This is something I need to focus on for myself. I should apply it unconditionally, and if I can achieve that then I understand and am living what believe.

A Window in Time

It's 2018,  My cousin sent me an old photo of myself when I was in the army, It triggered a chain of thoughts so I compared my eyes from now and then just to see and I wrote what came into my head.

Maybe it might resonate with you, I don't know, I hope it does.

Innovators - Prayer of the Children

This is the last of my selection from Innovators by Kurt Bester and Sam Cardon. This, in my opinion, is the most powerful piece. Movies and TV depict war in many ways, we indulge in miniature war gaming, children play at war, however this depicts war in its true form. The innovation yet to come - no more war,
